The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has directed its clients to recommence the loading of crude oil shipments from its Das and Zirku island ports in the Persian Gulf. This decision comes in light of better conditions following the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, which has fostered expectations of smooth maritime traffic through the essential Strait of Hormuz.
ADNOC confirmed that crude cargoes have been available for loading since April 27. The company has reminded customers that failing to collect their scheduled shipments could be seen as a violation of contractual agreements. To assist buyers facing shipping obstacles, ADNOC has offered support through its own or affiliated tanker fleets.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by Gulf oil producers to resume normal export operations, which had been disrupted by regional tensions. ADNOC, known for being one of the most active exporters in the region, has already sold tens of millions of barrels through tenders.
In a strategic move to lessen dependence on the Strait of Hormuz, the United Arab Emirates is actively developing alternate export routes. The nation is fast-tracking infrastructure projects, such as enhancing pipeline capacity to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, which will facilitate more crude exports to bypass the critical waterway.
